Charity Gala Dinner

21st March 2009 - Matthew will be appearing at a charity gala dinner at the East Cliff Pavilion in Folkestone in aid of the 'Dave Lees Happy Holidays Charity'. To be confirmed.

 

Mayor's concert

6th February 2009 - Matthew has been asked to perform at the Mayor's Concert at the Acacia Hall in Dartford. Details to be confirmed. 

 

Kent and Medway Police Force Officers Ball
23rd December 2008 - Matthew has been asked to perform at The Corn Exchange Rochester for the Kent and Medway Police Force. He will be performing two sets, approximately 30 mins per set. The first set will be at around 8.30pm and then the second set at 10pm. Each set will consist of five songs. The Ball will also be attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Medway, Council Officials and VIPS. 7pm.
 

Private Function - Essex

6th December 2008 - Matthew has been asked to perform at a private function at the East Thurrock Community Centre in Essex.

 

Gifted Young Gravesham

15th November 2008 - Matthew will be performing at a showcase of talented youngsters called 'Young, Gifted and Gravesham' at 7pm. This is being supported by Gravesham Borough Council and Kent Youth Service.



Tickets will be on sale at £5.00 each and can be purchased from Woodville Halls Box Office on 01474 337774 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday. Alternatively tickets can be purchased from Jodie Hamilton (Senior Youth Worker) at The Grand  on 01474 320123.

 

Dartford Christmas Lights
15th November 2008 - Matthew has been asked to turn on the Christmas lights in Dartford at One Bell Corner. To be confirmed.
 

Actz Factor Final
14th November 2008 - Matthew has been invited to judge the final of the Actz Factor 2008 Junior Competition. Matthew won the adult competition last year in November.
 

Cerebral Palsy Care Sapphire Charity Ball

 

18th October 2008 - Matthew has been asked to appear at the Cerebral Palsy Care Sapphire Charity Ball which will be held at Gillingham Football Club at 6.15pm. He will be performing four songs, details of those to follow later.

Matthew has been asked by the Chairman and Trustees of the CPC (Cerebral Palsy Care) to become a Patron. The charity works with children and adults with cerebral palsy and is based locally. Matthew is very proud to represent the charity and will be attending some events when his commitments allow him to do so.

Copperfields Residential Home
12th October 2008 - Matthew has been asked to perform at the Copperfields Residential Home  in Higham at 2.30pm.
 

Gads Hill Autumn Concert
9th October 2008 - Matthew will be performing at his schools autumn concert which takes place at the Royal Dockyard Church, Chatham Dockyard.
 

Concert in Sittingbourne

4th October 2008 - Matthew has been asked to perform with the Celestine Singers in a concert with performances from the opera 'Carmen'. The concert is called 'Another evening of musical delight with the Celestine Singers'. This is in aid of the Wormshill Childrens Playground. The tickets are priced at £10 each which includes a buffet supper and are available on the door. The concert also features the works of Gilbert and Sullivan and takes place at St Giles Church, The Street, Wormshill in Sittingbourne at 7pm.

 

Sportsmans Dinner
2nd October 2008 - Matthew has been asked to perform at a Sportsmans Dinner at Gillingham Football Club. Guest Speaker for the evening will be Jack Charlton OBE, former Leeds United Player and coveted 1966 England world cup player and Republic of Ireland International Manager. Jack has had a glittering career which earned him 774 club appearances and 96 goals to his name. He was awarded honorary Irish Citizenship and Freedom of The City of Dublin in 1994. In 2005 Jack Charlton was inducted into the English Football Hall Of Fame in recognition of his contribution to the game of football, a true footballing Legend. Also appearing will be Gary Kemsley, a first class comedian and host, known for his professional delivery and sassy material.

Concert Rehearsal
30th September 2008 - Matthew to rehearse with Celestine Singers for the concert in Sittingbourne in October.
 

H-Factor
23rd September 2008 7.30pm. Matthew has been invited to participate in the H-Factor competition in Laindon, Essex, in the adult competition. Matthew  won the Junior competition in May 2006 when he was 13 years old. 7.30pm.
 

Wedding TV
22nd September 2008 - Matthew attended a private audition for Wedding TV. He auditioned in front of four judges who were Sophie Anderton, Mikey and Grace from Big Brother 7 and a family friend. The winner will get the opportunity to perform at a celebrity couples wedding next year and possible coverage in a magazine.

15th September 2008 - Matthew met with the Celestine Singers for a concert rehearsal in Sittingbourne which takes place in October.
 

Gifted Young Gravesham
10th September 2008 - Matthew is to audition for 'Gifted Young Gravesham' at St Georges C of E school in Gravesend at 5.20pm. If he is successful he will appear at The Woodville Hallls in a Showcase on the 15th November 2008 .
 

Bluewater

30th August 2008 - Matthew will be performing at the Winter Garden at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent at the request of the Bar Wizards and Damon Scott from Britain's Got Talent, finalists 2007.

Matthew performed four songs at Bluewater. Other artists performing were Lauren Ives (X-Factor contestant 2008) and Fil Straughan (winner of Bluewater's Got Talent), Avenue (a new boyband who were on X-Factor 2006) and Raen (an Australian girl group). Also appearing were Hoop Lala from Britain's Got Talent.

Bluewater's Got Talent Final

26th August 2008 - Matthew has reached the Grand Final of Bluewaters Got Talent at Bluewater Shopping Centre,The Winter Garden. Matthew's performance is at 12.20pm.

The competition was judged by Damon Scott and Bubbles, Damon was runner up in Britains Got Talent 2007. The other judges were Neil and The Bar Wizards who were Britains Got Talent Finalists 2007. The competition was won by Fil Straughan from London.

Hoo Outdoor Concert

24th August 2008 - Matthew will be appearing at a local outdoor concert in Hoo. It takes place at the BAE Sports and Social Club. He is due on stage at 1.45pm and will be selling and signing CD's after at approx 2.30pm.

 

Patron of CPC
22nd August 2008 - Matthew has been asked by the Chairman and Trustees of the CPC (Cerebral Palsy Care) to become a Patron. The charity works with children and adults with cerebral palsy and is based locally. Filming of video
21st August 2008 - Matthew will be filming his brand new video for his three new songs at The Parish Hall in Chobham, Surrey. 11am to 5pm.
 

Gillingham Football Club Appearance
16th August 2008 - Matthew  was invited to Gillingham Football Club by Paul Scally, Chairman, to perform pre match. He sang the club song 'The Last Waltz' to approx 5000 supporters. He was then invited to watch the match from the Directors Box and to go to the boardroom for hospitality at half time and full time.
 

Bluewater Shopping Centre Talent Show

12th August 2008 - Matthew entered the Bluewater Shopping Centre Talent Show at the Winter Garden and got through the heat to reach the Grand Final.

 

Recording Studios
11th August 2008 - Matthew will be at the recording studio in Surrey with Mark Taylor and Barry Murray. They are the song writers finalising the three tracks writtten specially for Matthew. It is classical music with a celtic twist. The songs are titled:

2. When You Have Love 
3. The Christmas Heart

5th August 2008 - IT'S OFFICIAL! At 2pm Matthew will be attending a press launch at Priestfields Stadium, Gillingham, to announce that he is to be sponsored by Gillingham Football Club and Paul Scally.
 

Private Function

3rd August 2008 - Matthew is to perform at the banqueting suite at Priestfield Stadium home of Gillingham Football Club for a golden wedding celebration of Mr & Mrs Paulley, GFC Director  

 

Song final edits

29th July 2008 - Matthew is to return to the recording studios in Surrey to do the final edits of 'When You Have Love' and 'The Christmas Heart'.

28th July 2008 - Matthew met Paul Scally, Chairman of Gillingham Football Club, again to finalise details regarding sponsorship of Matthew's career.

22nd July 2008 - Matthew returned to the recording studios in Surrey to work on his third song 'The Christmas Heart'.

 

Dartford Festival
20th July 2008 - Matthew appeared at the Dartford Festival at the Central Park, Princes Road. He performed alongside Chas and Dave and from Britains Got Talent, Kate and Gin the dancing dog, Sophie Mae (belly dancer) and the martial arts boys Strike.

On this day he also appeared and performed at a private function in Uxbridge to Brandon Block celebrity DJ, Vanessa Feltz and partner Ben Ofoedu as well as Jess Conrad (singer). Matthew received overwhelming praise and a rapturous response from all the guests. He also met Charlotte Kelly who is a gifted blind singer/songwriter and Sylence an American singer/songwriter who thought Matthew had an amazing voice and talent.

When You Have Love

15th July 2008 - Matthew was back in the recording studios in Surrey, this time to record the second new song called 'When You Have Love'.

 

Dartford Festival promotion

12th July 2008 - Matthew was asked to appear on Radio Kent's, Paul James show to promote the Dartford Festival on the 20th july 2008 with local band 'The Sound Casters'. 9am. He also performed to local shoppers in Dartford with the band at 1pm.

 

Gads Hill Senior Prize Giving

11th July 2008 - Matthew attended the Gads Hill Senior Prize Giving ceremony and he received half house colours for his contribution to music at school. His award was presented to him by Brigadier Ad Harking OBE and the mayor and mayoress of Medway,  David and Kirstine Carr. This ceremony took place at the Royal Historic Dockyard church in Chatham.

 

New CD

10th July 2008 - 1000 copies of Matthew's new cd 'Onwards and Upwards' were collected.

 

Whizz Kids

24th June 2008 - Matthew was filmed by Whizz Kids entertainment production company at home for the Channel Five programme 'Help I've Got A High Maintenance Child' to be televised soon. Dates to be confirmed.

 

Meeting re album

23rd June 2008 - Matthew attended a meeting with the manufacturer regarding his new album. The art work, copyright and mastering were all arranged for collection in July 2008.

 

Meeting with Saba

18th June 2008 - Matthew had a meeting with John Downie from Saba, 'UK unsigned the talent show'. Matthew won this at the Hackney Empire in March 2008 for possible business support/sponsorship from the local arts council. After discussion bids were placed.

 

New cd recording

16th and 17th June 2008 - Matthew went into the recording studios at the Sunlight Centre in Gillingham to record his new album which is titled 'Onwards and Upwards'. It is a mixture of classical/sacred/ballads and songs from the shows. You can buy Matthew's cd here.

 

High Halstows Got Talent

13th June 2008 - Matthew was asked to be a judge at the High Halstows Got Talent show at High Halstow primary school. Matthew used to be a pupil at this school. He signed autographs and gave cds to the children after the show. The winner of the competition was Patrick and the runners up were Georgia Horsley and Scarlett.

 

When We Were Timeless

10th June 2008 - Matthew was at a recording studio in Surrey working on the 'When We Were Timeless' final edit.

 

Love Music Hate Racism Festival
7th June 2008 - Matthew was asked to perform at the Love Music Hate Racism festival at The Command House, Chatham 1pm to 10pm. This was a multi cultural festival.
 

Drifters

31st May 2008 - Matthew has been asked by Phil Luderman (manager of the soul group The Drifters) if he would perform with the Drifters in a charity concert for the cerebral palsy unit at View Road, Cliffe Woods, Rochester, Kent. 8pm

UK Unsigned Winners Showcase

24th May 2008 - Matthew is to perform in the UK Unsigned Winners Showcase for the chance to become the Best UK Performer of the Year at Stanley Hall, 12 South Norwood Hill, London SE25. The overall best performer will represent UK unsigned in a major national competition at the end of the year. Hosted by George Kay & Abrante from Choice FM. Live guest performance by GI JOE. 21st May 2008 - Matthew has been asked to attend the officiall launch of the Dartford Festival between 12noon and 2pm at the Acacia Hall, Dartford, Kent. he will perform to VIP Guests, The Mayor, Press etc.
 
     

Mayor of Medway Charity Concert

2nd May 2008 - Matthew has been asked to appear at this concert taking place at The Corn Exchange, Rochester, Kent. He will be performing a showcase of six songs. Grand Final Mad Tiger Talent Show
1st May 2008 - Matthew has reached the grand final of The Mad Tiger Talent Show. It has a 1st prize of £1000, 2nd Prize of £300 and a 3rd Prize of £200 and your song played on the radio.
 

Showcase songs
28th April 2008 - Matthew had a meeting at some recording studios in Surrey. He met with Barry Murray and Mark Taylor who are two famous songwriters. They wrote 'In the Summertime' for Mungo Jerry and many more. They were asked by Tony Clayman (Matthew's agent) to write three or four original songs for Matthew to showcase to the major record labels. The first song is called 'When We Were Timeless'.

the Dave Lee's Happy Holidays Charity at Gillingham FC,
Priestfield Stadium, Gillingham, Kent.
There will also be a Live Auction. 7pm.



This picture is of Matthew and Jess Conrad, a very famous singer from the '60s who is still very popular today. Jess was captain of the celebrity football team and attended the gala dinner in aid of Dave Lees Happy Holidays charity at Gillingham Football Club on 27th April 2008.

11th April 2008 - Matthew had a meeting with chairman of Gillingham FC, Paul Scally about possible sponsorship.
 

Mad Tiger Talent Show
10th April 2008 - Matthew will be taking part in the Mad Tiger talent show at Dartford Social Club. 7.30pm.
 

Dave Lee Annual Show

6th April 2008 - Matthew appeared as a special guest performer on The Dave Lee MBE Annual Show for charity at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Kent. Dave is a comedian, compere, singer and Director of Gillingham Football Club.

Also appearing were:

Dave Lee MBE (comedian/director Gillingham FC), The Tiller Girls, Shaun Williamson (Barry from Eastenders), Paul James from Radio Kent, Barbara Sturgeon from Radio Kent, Stephen Mulhern from Britain's got Talent 'the aftershow', The Drifters (soul group), Neil James (comedian), Lloyd Hollett (comedian), Tony Dibben from Capital Radio formerley of KMFM, Brian Conley (comedian), Barry Mason (song writer - the man who wrote 'Delilah' for Tom Jones and 'There Goes My First Love' for the Drifters), Tony Gerrard (comedian), Victoria (violinist), Don Mescall (singer), The Odd Balls (entertainment act), PH Moriarty (actor - Harry the Hatchett in 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'), Gary Bushell (journalist and comedian) and Paul Scally Chairman of Gillingham FC  unfortunately could not attend.

Matthew received a standing ovation from over 1000 people. He signed autographs and cds and had photos with many fans in the foyer after the show. The show was in aid of Dave Lee's Happy Holidays, a charity which provides holidays for the disabled, sick and underprivileged children of Kent and their immediate families.

Grand Final Search for a Star 2008

5th April 2008 - Matthew has reached the final of Search for a Star 2008, the Midlands top talent show which takes place in Longbridge, Birmingham. 7pm - 11pm.

Grand Final UK Unsigned


30th March 2008 - Matthew has reached the Grand Final of The UK Unsigned national talent competition which takes place at Hackney Empire, London.  Tickets are available for the final by calling 0208 776 6776 or Hackney Empire direct on 0208 985 2424. They are priced at £15.00 & £12.50. Live performances on the night also by Jai Amore, Mizz Teejah,Torcharah and GI Joe new release 'Kracking Up'.  7pm - 11pm.
Judges and presenters confirmed for this event include Kanya King from MOBO Awards, Jay Shaun, Nathan and NDubz, plus executives from Sony BMG, Universal, and Shalit Global Management. 

**UPDATE** Matthew is the UK UNSIGNED NATIONAL WINNER TEEN VOCALS 2008. He received a glass trophy and certificate and will now compete in an all winners final to be confirmed soon.

29th March 2008 - Matthew was invited to Gillingham Football Club by the chairman Paul Scally, as a special guest to have dinner in the boardroom pre-match and to watch Gillingham play Carlisle United from the directors box with Paul Scally and his wife Sara, Dave Lee MBE and Paul Clark MP.

Gads Hill Spring Music Festival
27th March 2008 - Gads Hill Spring Music Festival at the Royal Historic Dockyard Church, Chatham. Matthew will be competing in the festival and singing a vocal solo, a duet with Abigail Meade, and a piano composition. 7pm.

**UPDATE** Matthew was the outright winner of the Spring Music Festival 2008 repeating his win of 2006. He also came 1st in the senior vocal solo section, class 11 singing 'Toreador' and 1st in the senior duet section, class 13 with Abigail Meade singing 'All I ask Of You' from the Phantom Of The Opera.

The adjudicator was Mr Simon Lock, the area manager for Kent Music, who studied violin at the Wells Cathedral Music School and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Gillingham Football Club

22nd March 2008 - Matthew was invited as a special guest to Gillingham Football Club by the Chairman, Paul Scally to have dinner in the boardroom pre-match and to watch Gillingham play Bournemouth from the directors box with Paul Scally, Dave Lee MBE and Paul Clark MP.

Search for a Star
15th March 2008 - Matthew will be competing in the Semi Finals of the Midland's top talent show SEARCH FOR A STAR 2008 at the Austin Sports and Social Club, Longbridge, Birmingham. 7pm.

Rochester Cathedral
6th March 2008 - Matthew performed at the Business Guild Dinner in the Crypt at Rochester Cathedral for The Dean Adrian Newman and The Chambers Of Commerce. 8.30pm. It was here Matthew was spotted by Paul Scally (Chairman of Gillingham Football Club) and his wife Sara. They were so impressed with Matthew's performance and obvious talent that he was invited to dinner as a special guest pre match at Priestfield Stadium.  He was also asked to perform at the Player of the Year Awards at the end of April 2008.

2nd March 2008 - Matthew is competing in the semi finals of a teen talent show for UK Unsigned. He entered this competition originally in February 2007. It is run by SABA (Society for the Advancement of British Arts)
 

Fresh Blood Talent Showcase

1st March 2008 - Matthew will be performing at the Fresh Blood talent showcase 2008. It will take place at Laban, Creekside, London. This will be supporting the blood transfusion unit. The event will be attended by Island Records, Urban TV and hosted by Choice FM. Doors open 5.15pm. Special appearances by Doctor, NRG, Osirus, Andre (saxophonist), Kajo and more. 6pm - 10pm.

Ilford Talent Show
17th February 2008 - Matthew to take part in the Ilford Talent Show at The Guildhall, Ilford, Essex. 7.30pm

Charity Night
15th February 2008 - Matthew will be appearing at a charity night in aid of Cancer Research in a private members club in Rochester, Kent.
 

Rap and Opera CD
3rd February 2007 - Matthew is scheduled to be in the recording studio in London working on a new rap and opera CD with Big Narstie and manager Steve Long.

Birmingham Talent Show
2nd February 2008 - Matthew is entering a top talent show in Birmingham with a £5000 prize at Austin Sports and Social Club, Longbridge. It takes place at 6.30pm.

TV Appearance - Maddie's Got Talent
24th January 2008 - Matthew appearing on Red TV, SKY channel 186, Maddies Got Talent Show 7.30pm to 8.30pm. He is also appearing on this show on 26th January at 5pm and on the 27th January at 12 noon and 7.30pm.

Channel U VIP Album VOL 2 launch

 

24th January 2008 - Matthew invited to attend the Channel U VIP Album VOL 2 launch.

This was Channel U's 5th birthday party in a club called 'Dust' in London. Matthew's song 'Memories' is on the album as Young Maestro, The Firm & Ozmosis and it is track number 19 on CD 2. Available on cd and download from 28th Jan 2008.

The party featured live performances from N-DUBZ, DJ IRONIK, DARREN B, YOUNG MAESTRO and OZMOSIS.

19th January 2008 - Matthew auditioned for 'FRESH BLOOD' talent showcase at Greenwich University, Old Royal Naval College, Park Row, London.This event is supporting the Blood Transfusion Service and is a multi cultural show. 4.10pm.

10th January 2008 - Matthew was filmed by RED TV sky channel 186 in their Birmingham studios for a new tv show called 'Maddie's Got Talent Show'.  Date to be shown on TV yet to be confirmed.

10th December 2007 - Matthew invited to attend the grand opening of a new Chinese restaurant called 'Twin Palace' in Bexleyheath. It is part owned  by Matthew's father's friends, Michael and Nick. Matthew peformed 2 songs to a crowded restaurant.

Actz Factor Grand Final
23rd November 2007 - Matthew will be appearing in the Actz Factor Grand Final at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet in Essex.
**UPDATE** 500 people entered this competition and Matthew was in the Grand Final against 25 adults and won. His prize was £2000 and he received a trophy and certificate.

Matthew signs up with Jim Tay for vocal tutition
28th October 2007 - Matthew has signed up with a new vocal coach - Jim Tay (also known as Tay Cheng-Jim).
Tay Cheng-Jim was born in Singapore and studied at the Guildhall school of Music and Drama winning the counter-tenor prize and awards from the arts council and the Vaughan Williams Trust.
He studied with the celebrated Hungarian Teacher 'Vera Rozsa'. He has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall/Purcell Rooms and Royal Festival Hall and had many engagements in Europe. He also has toured in the Far East, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. He has performed to the Queen and also for the Dutch Royal Famiy. He has also played many leading roles in opera.

4th October 2007 - Matthew had a private audition at Sony BMG in the boardroom, Bedford House, London with Chris Craker, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Sony BMG and Pollyana Gunning from Sanctury Records. He received very positive feedback, advice and various suggestions /recommendations which after careful consideration has acted on. Jigsaw Entertainment Competition

11th August 2007 - Matthew took part in the Jigsaw Entertainment Competition/Talent Quest at The Buckingham Hotel, Buckingham which supported Kidscan, and they help to cure children with cancer.

Open Air Concert

14th July 2007 - 11am: Matthew will be visiting Martin House Hospice for Children and young people in Wetherby, Yorkshire prior to his concert at Womersley Park with Katherine Jenkins in the evening. The Hospice is one of the charities that the concert is representing. Matthew will meet the staff and children and will be presenting them with a cheque and money raised privately by himself and his father. He will also be donating signed CDs to the children and the families he meets. There will be some press coverage.

Matthew has been asked to perform alongside Katherine Jenkins with the Band Of Her Majestys Royal Marines, Scotland and Emer McParland at an open air concert in Womersley Park, Doncaster to an audience of 5000 people.

10th June 2007 - Matthew auditioned again at Arsenal Football Ground for X-Factor 2007 in front of Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Brian Freidman, and Danni Minogue. Afterwards he was interviewed by Dermot O'Leary for ITV 1 and also Ferne Cotton for ITV2.

16th April 2007 - Matthew is to appear in the Carlsberg and Tetley talent show as reigning champion where he will appearing as a guest singer and handing over his title to the new champion. It takes place at East Ham Working Mens Club at 8pm. Matthew also won the Peoples Champion Trophy last year.
He was also asked to be a guest judge.

23rd March 2007 - Matthew has been nominated for a Pride in Medway award and the ceremony is to be held at the Corn Exchange in Rochester, 6pm.

Gads Hill Spring Music Festival

22nd March 2007 - Matthew will be taking part in the Gads Hill Spring Music Festival which is at the Royal Historic Dockyard, Chatham at 7pm. Matthew won this event last year.

**UPDATE** Matthew gained first place in the male vocal solo with Tom Webzell. Tom's father is Paul James, the radio Kent presenter. Matthew's certificate can be seen on the awards page.

18th March 2007 - Matthew is scheduled to take part in a Talent Show audition at The Guildhall, Ilford in at 8.30pm. It is sponsored by Greene King.  Matthew came second in this competition last year and is looking forward to competing in this years competition as he was made to feel very welcome.

16th March 2007 - Matthew is in the regional semi final of the South Coast Idol competition at the Agincourt, Camberley.
He is in the last twenty in the region from over 10,000 entrants.

Matthew has been asked to compete in the Crooke Prix D'Excellence Competition. The winner will get a certificate and trophy and also £100 cash prize.

SABA/RHSP Productions Grand Talent Showcase

25th February 2007 - Matthew is taking part in SABA/RHSP Productions Grand Talent Showcase at Osmington Hall, Weymouth, Dorset. 7.15pm. This competition offers great prizes to the winners such as a recording contract with 'What Next Productions', participation in UK UNSIGNED Nationwide Tour, recording time with 'Jet Star Records',  showcase in Jamaica, plus the UK UNSIGNED (UKU) Trophy and £250 per category winner. 

**UPDATE** Matthew has reached the semi finals of this UK Unsigned competition and they will be held in London in October.


South Coast Idol National Competition
24th February 2007 - Matthew will be taking part in the South Coast Idol UK Live And Unsigned Audition at the Albert Suite, South Parade Pier, Portsmouth at 2pm. This is a national competition for adults and has an under 17 years old category. The winner of the under 17's category will be able to record their own album and to perform at the grand final in Portsmouth on the 26th May 2007 at the Guildhall. The adult prize is worth over £20,000. 

Britain's Got Talent
21st February 2007 - Matthew has an audition for the new Talent Show called 'Britains Got Talent' with Syco TV, ITV & Talkback Thames, to be televised on ITV in May. It will have celebrity judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden & Piers Morgan.
Matthew's audition is on 21st February in London.

Harvey Goldsmith Entertainer of the Year Final

16th February 2007 - The Grand Final Of The Harvey Goldsmith Entertainer Of The Year taking place at Deighton, West Yorkshire. 6.30pm. This final is being recorded by Channel Four.

Matthew was ill and had a very bad chest infection and cold but still managed to perform as he did not want to let people down even though Channel 4 were filming this.

The programme is to be televised from 27th March at 9pm on C4. There are six shows and Matthew will be shown on two of them.

16th December 2006 - Matthew will be appearing at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon on 16th December with the London Mozart Players,The Croydon Philharmonic Choir and the Croydon Parish Choir. The concert is titled 'Classic Christmas' and after the performance Matthew will be doing a signing in the foyer of the theatre at approx 9.30pm/9.45pm. Charity Concert
11th November 2006 - Matthew sung at a charity concert for children with leukaemia at the Winston Club in Laindon, Essex with Maggie and Dennis Roberts and raised £1000.

Recording Studions
4th and 5th November 2006 - Matthew spent two days in the recording studios over this weekend. On the Saturday he was at All of Music Studios in Essex and then on the Sunday in Canvey Island. He was making an  album of well known classics/classical songs which will be available in December.
 

Exhibition Of Arts And Crafts Of The Medieval Eastern Roman Empire Byzantium
2nd November 2006 - Matthew invited to attend the Czech Embassy, London by Vesna Petkovic to an 'Exhibition Of Arts And Crafts Of The Medieval Eastern Roman Empire Byzantium'. These are Childrens Workships funded by Capital Radio and Help A London Child and 'Awards For All'.  He is to meet the children and sing to them.
In the evening he will be attending the Gads Hill School Autumn Concert.

Katherine Jenkins Concert
23rd October 2006 - Matthew went to Fairfield Halls, Croydon  to see Katherine Jenkin's in concert by invitation. He met her back stage afterwards and she immediately recognised him and said that she watched him in the final Of 'Let Me Entertain You' whilst in Spain.  She said she thought his performance was great, and signed his book and said in the future she hopes to sing with him and wished him luck for his concert at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon on 16th December 2006.
 

Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama

21st October 2006 - Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. Taking place at Fort Pitt Grammar School in Chatham from 10am - 10pm

Matthew won four competitions and three second placements.

The competitions he won were 'Songs from the Shows'. He was given a first place graded 'outstanding' in the under 19 years category and received a certificate and silver cup, The Ivor Morgan Trophy.

He was invited to perform in the evening concert to compete for the Junior Championship Shield and he won this becoming Junior Champion of the festival.

Then he won the winner of 'Songs from the Shows' for the Juniors and the Seniors, The Arthur Whitten Trophy and finally the 'Chairmans Cup'  for best solo singer for the Junior and Senior sections, making him overall winner of the vocal solo section of the Medway Festival 2006.

Charity Concert for The World Peace Organisation
18th October 2006 - Matthew appeared at a Charity Concert for The World Peace Organisation at St Stephens Church in Notting Hill, London. He performed with Phyllis Shilling, an American Opera Singer and Marion Whitehead, a Prestigious Concert Pianist. The concert was attended by the Bishop of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Ambassador. Also appearing were Jaymee Coonjobeeharry, a 13 year old flutist and Vicky Yannoula who is a classical pianist and jazz musical theatre singer.

September Inspirations

23rd September 2006 - Matthew headlined at the 'September Inspirations' Classical Concert at Rochester Cathedral, Kent.

The show featured the UK's youngest baritone and Star4Medway winner - Matthew Crane accompanied by 'The Medway Sinfonia' and International Soprano - Christine Hubbard and Ken McCarthy. The concert was attended by the Mayor Angela Prodger and Mr Brian Prodger and the former Mayor Mr Ken Webber and Anita Webber, Vanessa Feltz and Ben Ofeodu.

Pat Marsh Radio Show

18th September 2006 - Matthew was on the Pat Marsh Show on Radio Kent to celebrate his win on the BBC2 Show, 'Let Me Entertain You' and to promote his Concert on 23rd September 2006, at Rochester Cathedral.

15th September 2006 - Matthew appeared on the BBC South East News at 6.30pm, and 10.30pm to say he had won a national talent show.
 

Matthew Crane wins Let Me Entertain You

15th September 2006 - Matthew won the final of the talent show Let Me Entertain You singing his favourite song, 'Nessun Dorma'. He became Series Champion and won a week in Australia and two shows at the Sydney Opera House.

He was one of eight finalists and won with 36% of the studios vote.

30th August 2006 - Matthew was interviewed by Rona Pinkerton from KMFM radio and it was broadcast on 31st august on 100.4 fm.

Promotion in Rochester
27th August 2006 - Matthew sang and signed autographs to promote his concert in September at Rochester Visitors Centre. 
 

Matthew on TV
25th August 2006 - Matthew will be appearing on BBC Breakfast TV in the morning which will be his first live tv news appearance. He will be talking about the Brian Conley show that he will be appearing on later in the day on BBC2 at 5pm. Matthew won a £1000 Saville Row suit and a place in the final on September 15th.
 

Brian Conley Show
21st August - Matthew appeared on the BBC 2, Brian Conley Show this evening. The show is called 'Let Me Entertain You' and it is a knock-out talent show. Matthew succeeded in going through to the weekly final which will be broadcast on Friday 25th August. By winning this part of the show Matthew won a £1000 trip to Rome.

12th August 2006 - The final is to be held at the King Charles Hotel, Brompton and Matthew will be performing and handing over his title to this years winner.
 

Brian Conley Show - Let Me Entertain You
Matthew attended a pilot show of the new Brian Conley Show and impressed them. He is filming for the new series from 4th - 18th August at the BBC Studios in Teddington, Middlesex.

The show will be televised from 21st August for four weeks.
 

Private Auditions
26th July 2006 - Matthew will be attending private auditions at the Metropolis Studios, Chiswick, London. They are with Major Record Giants including Sony, Warners and Universal Classics and were arranged by Steve Long who is Matthew's Manager.
 

Gads Hill School Ball

13th July 2006 - Matthew attended the Gads Hill School Summer Ball with his friend Abbie Cahill.

The evening was themed 'Gangsters and Molls'.

 

Festival For Stars
18 June 2006 - Matthew achieved a last four placing at this competition making him a Regional Finalist. Unfortunately he was up against pop music groups and dance troupes and this is what the judges were looking for on the day.
He was a Regional Finalist in both the Under 14's Solo Singing and Under 14's Musical Theatre. The awards can be seen on the Awards Page.
 

Metropolis Recording Studios
31st May 2006 - Matthew went to the Metropolis recording studios in Chiswick to record some new songs. He used the same microphone that has been used by names such as Michael Jackson, Annie Lennox, Queen and Freddie Mecury, David Bowie, Simply Red and many others.
 

Rural Dickens

28 May 2006 - Rural Dickens at High Halstow Cricket Ground, Christmas Lane, High Halstow, Rochester at 1pm.

This event was cancelled due to bad weather and will be rescheduled.

 

H Factor Finals

25th May 2006 - Matthew won the final of the H Factor Competition at the Hungry Horse in Laindon, Essex. He was presented with £1000 prize money and a medal and trophy by Shane of Boyzone and a quote from him can be found here.

Ilford Talent Show

22nd April 2006 - Matthew finished second in this competition and won some prize money plus a lot of adoration.

The picture shows Matthew with Michael and Kathleen Maguire who are parents of Sean. Sean was a regular in the cast of Eastenders.

 

Carlsberg and Tetley Talent Show

10th April 2006 - Matthew entered the Carlsberg and Tetley talent show at East Ham in London. He came first and won prize money and recording time in a studio. He also won a trophy for gaining the poeples vote.


Talent Show - H Factor
6th April 2006 - Matthew recently entered a talent show in Laindon, Essex called the H Factor and he is now through to the semi-final which takes place on 11th or 18th May. The finals are on the 25th May 2006
 

Mayors Charity Show

1st April 2006 - Matthew appeared in the Mayors Charity Show at Rochester Grammar School for Girls. Photo to follow soon.

Festival for Stars
On the 26th March 2006 Matthew went to the Grange City Hotel in London and reached the Regional finals of Festival for Stars, the UK's biggest talent competition in the musical theatre section and the That's Entertaiment section.
 

Gads Hill Spring Music Festival

23rd March 2006

Matthew won the Gads Hill Spring Music Festival on the 23rd March at the Royal Historic Dockyard Church, Chatham. He was presented with a certificate and shield by Ms Alison Moncrieff Kelly, an adjudicator for the National Schools Chamber Competition and an examiner for the Associated Board to the Royal Schools of Music who trained at the Royal College and the Royal Academy. She said Matthew had exceptional ability and deserved to win the competition.

 

Live Ape
Matthew took part in the Live Ape charity show in aid of the John Aspinal Foundation on March 4th 2006 at the Brook Theatre, Chatham.
He performed six songs: 'Nessun Dorma', 'If I Ruled The World', 'Goodbye', 'Jerusalem', 'Be My Love' and 'A Whole New World'.

6th January 2006 - Went back to old school (High Halstow Primary School) to sing at their prizegiving and in the evening picked up "Pride of Medway" nomination certificate at Pembroke House, Chatham, Kent.

Run by Dennis and Maggie Roberts who have helped and supported Matthew's singing.
Matthew regularly attends 'The Belvedere Club' in Billericay on Sundays to their 'Open Mic' sessions 4 - 8pm. Maggie is a vocal teacher and singer. Dennis is a compere, singer and talent promotor. Tony Roberts, their son, has helped Matthew with his breathing and vocal techniques.
